Swallow most often plays as if playing a gentle, yet passionate, lead guitar (he wrote all nine songs). John is absolutely wonderful on several tracks. Steve Kuhn is killin' as one would expect (comping and soloing).5/5(1).

I bought this CD over 20 years ago in Tower Records in Boston. I still like this album. It is melodic and smooth. The lead instruments are keyboards, bass, and electric guitar. It was recorded in New York in Steve Swallow was a brilliant bass player and his compositions have been played by Gary Burton, Chick Corea, and Keith Jarrett.5/5(2).

Everyone plays with creative committment to the material & to Steve Swallow's vision. The proceedings feel a bit dry here & there, the Manfred Eicher Effect. But this is a very good album; one of the few I recommend to poets for both pleasure & the possibilities it suggests. Bob Rixon Sheila Jordan - Vocals, Voices Steve Kuhn - Piano/5(11).
